Learn to Play

Take your love of polo from the sideline to the field with an introductory lesson.

Over 60 minutes, you will learn riding and technical skills, rules and gameplay in a relaxed setting. You will be carefully matched up to a horse that suits your experience level and riding ability.

Polo Lessons

Lessons take place daily at the Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre and Woodmount Estate in Clonbinane (1 hour from Melbourne CBD).

Lessons are planned and managed in accordance with the client’s horse experience, riding ability and confidence.

The three key areas of focus are polo technique/riding, rules and game play. These areas are targeted through the following sessions:

Private Beginner Lessons: Polo Technique & Riding
Group Lessons: Polo Technique, Riding & Polo Rules
Instructional Chukkas: Polo Rules & Game Play

Costs:
Beginner Lessons are all inclusive at $150 per hour and include professional coaching, horse and equipment hire.

Chukkas

Venture Polo facilitates weekly chukkas for anyone wanting to play polo within a safe and controlled environment.

Academy Chukkas (Beginner Group)

Played on a 3/4 length field Academy Chukkas are largely instructional based focusing on game play and polo rules. Academy Chukkas act as a gateway for players wanting to proceed to playing formal chukkas or affiliated club tournaments. Cost: $200 all inclusive

Advanced Chukkas

Advanced chukkas are played on the full length of the field and operate in accordance with APF rules. Chukkas run in association with Melbourne City Polo and Eynesbury Polo Club and cater to anyone wanting to push their polo to the next level. Cost: $100 per chukka all inclusive

Arena Polo

Arena polo facilitates largely over the winter months, played within a state-of-the-art indoor facility at Woodmount Estate in Clonbinane. Arena polo is a fantastic way for beginners to get started playing polo, in a safe and controlled environment. Cost: $75 per chukka all inclusive

Wooden Horse Sessions

The wooden horse is a useful aid for both beginners and seasoned players alike. It enables clients to practice and perfect shots through repetition in order to gain precision, consistency and build muscle memory.

The wooden horse is used to establish and practise your key body positions, swing setup and rotation.
